The DSE “White Monster” 2012 Camaro Test Car and More at the Camaro5 Fest

camaro5-fest-mainMooresville, NC –  The 2013 Camaro5 Fest is a two day event that takes place at the Lucas Oil Raceway Park in Indianapolis, IN. It is a large gathering of 5th Generation Camaros showing and competing in the CamaroCross and Drag Strip with a few other generations mixed in, as well. The weather was perfect and it was a great weekend for a car show.

Detroit Speed brought along the DSE 2010 Camaro Test Car and the new DSE 2012 “White Monster” Camaro Test Car to compete in the CamaroCross. Competitions at the event also included drag racing and a car show.

Along with the Test Cars, Detroit Speed had the new Front Coilover Conversion Kit in Street and Track versions and the Rear Coilover Conversion Kit on display at the hauler. The DSE 2010 Camaro Test Car competed with the “Street” kit while the 2012 Camaro Test Car competed with the “Race” kit. This allowed us to gain valuable track data that can be broken down and studied on both kits and give them more real world hours of testing on a new track.

The CamaroCross was broken into classes that included stock V6, stock V8, modified and the shop car class. Kyle and Ryan shared driving duties in the 2012 Camaro Test Car, while Stacy handled the driving in the 2010 Camaro Test Car. Detroit Speed engineer, Ryan Mathews, qualified for the finals and placed 3rd driving the 2012 Camaro Test Car.

The new coilover kits were very well received and we were happy to answer any questions customers may have had while browsing the booth setup. We would like to thank all the customers that came by the booth, we met lots of new friends and potential customers. We look forward to continuing to bring quality parts to the 5th Gen Camaro scene and to the continued friendships we made at the show.

General Motors was on hand with a large presence displaying the new C7 Corvette and the highly anticipated Z28 Camaro. It is always great to see GM’s continued support of our hobby.
